I enjoyed very much and great De Walt Drills 18volt Drill Kit that really accomplishes anything I throw at it. I've been able to easily screw in 3" construction screws into dry fir. Great Compact Drill Driver Kit for flooring applications and really nice slow speed to make sure you're starting steady.
If you are looking for a great deal based upon the included DeWalt Cordless Drills bateries, then this is not one of those deals. The two batteries that come with this kit are great. I've been able to go a full day without swapping. The perfect for anyone looking for a compact tool capable of drilling. The only time I need to swap more often is if I'm using a 1" wood drill bit going through very dry fir beams/joists. I've been able to use an 18" long 1" wood drill bit without so much as a slowdown. Very impressive for a drill this size. It's my general use drill that I use for pretty much anything.
The Compact Drill Driver Kit works very well. It arrived very quickly and has been a work horse since we got it.

This thing is not going to be a replacement for your super powerful 18V Makita or Dewalt. This is a nice handy tool for putting in curtain screws on a tall ladder, or just about anything else the big bulky tools can't go. Any where you can use a hand turn manual screw driver, you can use this! It is so easy to use, I use it on everything from putting on cabinet doors, installing door locks, putting together funitures, to drilling holes on cabinets. Do not let the small size fool you, with the right bit, you can drill through solide oak with ease. Just need an adapter for the bits. The price is right too. I just bought another one for my father, and he liked it too (he did not like anything else I gave him).
I have been very pleased with this screwdriver black and decker cordless is strong. I have two along with three of the 3.6 volt B&D drivers and use the 6 volt for larger, more demanding jobs (i.e. book shelf projects, etc.). It is handy because it can be set in several different positions. It is good looking (I like macho looking tools) and it is very handy. Mine all hold good, long charges but then I am used to handling Nicad batteries because I build and fly a lot of radio control planes and you have got to know how to keep your batteries healthy or your plane becomes a "kit" again. I have just ordered a third 6 volt. I also collect tools and believe that you never have enough.
Black and decker cordless is one of those products where you say "Cool" at first glance. Then when you use it, it just gets better. Not only is this a nice reversible cordless drill (for small jobs), but it has the flexible handle…and a handy place to hold the extra bits, and the built in tape measure! Now, it will never replace your 3 horsepower Sears Craftsman bad-boy for the big jobs (i.e. building a house), but the Pivot Plus is definitely handy around the house!

After having Makita products in the past, I chose to buy this Milwaukee drill after the Makita Lithium Ion drills had concerns about wobbly chucks and poor batteries. I received the drill and immediately liked it. The weight, size, trigger control, etc. were all fantastic. The best drill I ever handled. So I took my new drill to put up several blinds and thought the new quick change bit set I bought was junk. Everything was wobbling and it was even hard to put in the screws. I went down to the shop and started going through some other bits. Every one of them wobbled. So, I pulled out my old Makita and the wobbling was immediately gone. I was in the middle of a bunch of different projects, so I went to a local store and picked up another Milwaukee. I got it home and the same problem. They both wobble like nothing I've seen before. Beware, others say Makita has wobble problems, but in my case 2 Milwaukee compact drills from two different stores have suffered from wobbly chucks, while I've never seen a Makita with this problem. There's definitely some quality control issues at Milwaukee with these drills.
BUY THIS SET NOW! This Milwaukee drill set is awesome and I have the Makitas too. Not a knock against Makita. Makita success is responsible for the era of micro lithium tools. The last reviewer is not telling you the battery time is great. They are incredible. 92 units of 3 1/2 screws in Trex on one batter.
Great buy on an awesome Milwaukee drill combo kit. I already own a Milwaukee 2601-20 M18 Compact drill and driver. I wanted to get a cordless impact to replace my piece-o-junk Dewalt cordless impact; which I sold to a fellow co-worker because he thinks Dewalt tools are the best thing since sliced bread. Anyway as a Die-Hard Milwaukee fan I was going to get the 18v NiCad version of the Cordless Impact(tool only) to go with my Lok-Tor series cordless hamerdrill/driver. I was in my local Home Depot and I noticed this combo kit for $299. I was hesitant at first because I already had the exact drill but I thought it would not hurt to have 2. After I purchased this kit I had o try it out. The drill was the same as my other one, which is awesome. The impact has to be the best in ts class with 1400 in-lb of torque that beats the Dewalt by 200 in-lbs. I had this drive loosening rusty hardware on an old conduit rack outside, it feels stable in your hands and is so light you can use it overhead for long periods of time. I fastened a shoulder strap to the case nd take the whole kit up extension ladders onto roofs with me, and with the weight of these tools its just like having one NiCad drill with you. A+++ to Milwaukee for designing these 2 great tools.

Great drill
I bought this Makita Drills in about January or February. The Makita Drills itself is great, but something is flakey with either the included 1.5AH batteries or my charger as extended stays in the charger have killed both my batteries (both with and without the charger plugged in!). Makita does not sell 1.5AH batteries, only 3.0AH replacements which are nearly $100 and twice the size of the 1.5AH units.
I'd give this unit 5 stars if the batteries performed as they should have. I'm working with Makita Drills on a battery and charger replacement as this is clearly a problem with this (my?) unit.
Great for smaller hands and women
I got this drill after I checked it out in a local hardware store. It felt so good in my little hand. My husband's old (ancient) Porter Cable 12 volt is wearing out and we're building a house. Instead of trying to find batteries for his old Porter Cable, I decided to get the Makita Drills for Christmas. ( I know..I'm not your typical woman, I'd rather have electronics and power tools) This way I can help my husband when we're putting up drywall instead of standing around.
On to the drill. I absolutely love it. It's lightweight, powerful and it's stubby in length. Many times my husband has a tough time getting into small areas. The LED light is great too, after ten seconds of non use, the light slowly goes away. My husband is impressed with the power. I am a petite woman and it fits my hand nicely. The only problem my husband finds is that he has a tendency to hit the forward/reverse button instead of the trigger. I don't have this problem, he must hold it different than I do. I think he's just not used to the difference from his Porter Cable. We're both quite pleased so far. I don't like bulky tools.
Update: After nearly two years of heavy use my husband has stolen my drill from me. He loves it. Last weekend, he drilled through a steel beam in the basement. He's hard on stuff, but the lil Makita Drills has held up superbly. The batteries charge quickly as claimed too. I'd definitely buy this drill again.
Update: It's been nearly 3 years now and one of the batteries finally died. I've been reading about other people having problems with the batteries not lasting long. I guess 3-4 years is the typical lifespan. I ordered a new battery. Drill still working fine. I dropped it off a ladder this past weekend, as I cringed, the drill was fine. I do wish the batteries didn't cost so much. When I charge them, I try to take them off the charger as soon as they're done charging. We completely drain them too since we use the drill so much. This might help extend the battery life.

If you are in the market looking for ways to gain access to Fort Knox or you're just having some fun drilling through space shuttle titanium debris (and who hasn't?)l, this is not the tool for you. Makita Drills has nailed it: a wide-range compact tool that will handle most jobs and then some. This little beauty will screw and drill through most materials typical to an average household with one distinct advantage: weight and size. At 3.5 lbs. and 8", this Makita Drills goes to places my old Black & Decker didn't even know existed. Body feels solid, constructed of sturdy plastic with rubber at key areas like the handle-grip. Chuck is made of plastic: a metal one wouldn't add that much to the overall weight, and considering the price: c'm on Makita! Battery life is great, and so is performance: the battery holds consistent charge right through the end of a cycle, with no loss of torque. To top it off for once, the marketing department has it right: the battery does indeed recharge in 15 min! Comes with a charger twice the size of the drilllots of lights and indicators on this one, and a separate manual an extra battery, and an ugly case. Conclusion: considering that a cordless tool is the most used tool in a household, paying the street price of $200 is well worth it.

I received this de walt drills as a gift, I immediately put this tool to work driving and removing screws. We used it at the office to assemble shelves and everybody wanted to use the new power screwdriver. It makes assembly of anything with screws a lot easier. I use it a lot for electrical work. The repetetive installation and removal of covers, boxes and devices like switches and recepticals go a lot faster with this tool. The dewalt cordless comes with two battery packs, charger and a phillips and straight blade bit. It has a quick change chuck, which allows you to pop in new bits in seconds. It uses commonly available quick change style screwdiver bits,including bit holders, magnetic screw holders, drill bits. So when you buy extra bits or drills, make sure they are the new style with the notch in the shank. I recently found a quick change bit for Torx screws which I use a lot. This DeWalt Cordless Screwdriver will never totally replace your plug in drill or high power cordless drill, but you will find yourself using this powerful tool a lot more than you think. It has plenty of power to drive screws. It uses the quick change bits, making it very easy to change for different fastener types. This is not the low power predecessor that, like me, you probably bought or received as a gift in the past, this is by far the best new tool to come out in a long time. It will have the power you expect and deserve. As a long time renovator, electrician and do-it-your-selfer, I highly recommend this great tool!
The de walt cordless has very good battery life,feel, torque etc. As another reviewer has noted the chuck did wobble but if you watch the bit it is not the shaft . I removed the sliding chuck ring and found the tension spring was not flat ground on the ends and the plastic sleeve below it had a casting bur left causing the wobble(it made the chuck sleeve tilt when released). I flat ground the spring ends and removed the bur and all is ok now. The shaft was not the problem. I suppose that being made in China instead of the USA may have something to do with it. I called DeWalt and the said that to be competitive the do not make this tool here, it would cost too much. He was not too concerned about the wobble because it does not cause the bit to be off center. I should give it less than 5 stars but I like this tool so much better than anything else I have used for driving fasteners and light drilling and the fix was easy and took less than 5 minutes.I am beginning to be concerned with DeWalt's quality control.
When retirement came along my gift to myself was to build a collection of tools that would rival even Norm Abrams. Of all the power hand de walt drills I've acquired and put to use there is nothing close to feeling as good in your hand as the DeWalt Cordless Screwdriver. I really liked the chuck and being an engineer I was very impressed by the smart logic in the charger system. It seems the guys/gals that designed this tool thought of everything.
